Elon Musk posted a video of himself entering the Twitter headquarters carrying a sink in his hands. He has until Friday to close his Twitter purchase of $44 billion. After making the announcement months ago, the deal nearly fell apart when he tried to abandon it. Now, it seems the billionaire is back on track to buy Twitter ahead of the deadline.
“Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!” he wrote in a tweet. He also changed his Twitter bio to “chief twit”.

Musk has plans to implement huge changes in the social media platform, many of which have not been received well. Reports suggesting that major job cuts might be one of them have created considerable fear. In addition to allowing back banned members including Donald Trump and encouraging free speech, he wants to do away with spam and bot accounts. The purchase nearly fell through due to Musk’s accusation that Twitter has more spam accounts than they claim. Executives at Twitter denied these allegations, filing a lawsuit and forcing him to uphold his end of the deal.
As of now, it seems that Elon Musk will in all likelihood go ahead with Twitter’s takeover and makeover – he wants to use it to create ‘X’, what he calls “the everything app”. BBC further cited reports that claim he will talk to Twitter employees on Friday to address his plans and the path that lies ahead for the app. More details about what changes he wants to make will perhaps come out then.
