India’s Sargam Koushal Wins Mrs World 2022

Sargam Koushal has been crowned the new Mrs World 2022, bringing the title back to India after Dr Aditi Govitrikar won the pageant 21 years ago. Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, 32-year-old Koushal is now based in Mumbai. The finale took place at Westgate Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, where representatives of 63 countries battled it out for the crown. Mrs Polynesia bagged the first runner-up spot and Mrs Canada placed third. The pageant, which first began in 1984, is the first competition of its kind for married women.

Koushal shared a video of the former Mrs World, Shaylyn Ford of the United States, crowning her on her Instagram. She wrote, “The long wait is over, it’s after 21 years we have the CROWN back!” Her shimmering pink gown was designed by Bhawna Rao. Koushal undertook training and grooming from supermodel Alesia Raut and Anjali Raut for the pageant.

During the course of the competition, Koushal also won the title for Most Exotic National Costume. Further, in association with the Mrs India organisation and crowdfunding platform Milaap, Koushal helped raise funds for cancer survivors. The proceeds from this intiative went to the Cancer Patient Aid Association (CCPA).
